A Magical Adventure

Hello everyone! I was recently asked to write a two minute story at school on  "SMILE WITH SIMILES".What I submitted at school was the abridged version. Here is the full story for you to enjoy. It is full of similes and alliteration.

Once upon a time, there was a little girl called Jenny-Anne. Her hair was as brown as chestnuts, skin as soft as cotton, a voice as sweet as honey and lips as red as blood. She loved climbing trees, and walls and was as surefooted as a mountain goat. One day, while Jenny-Anne was taking a stroll in the woods, she chanced upon an elf caught in a thicket of bramble! As quick as lightning, she rushed to help the elf.

"Hello”, said the eIf, “I am Ellie. And you are?".

"I'm Jenny-Anne. Pleased to meet you".

"I have come to the mundane realm as there's as much chaos as a tiger in pixie carnival in fairy land”, said Ellie the elf. "I was sent on this quest by Queen Qiona and King Kaden to find a being from this realm who believes in fairyland and is as courageous as a lion and honourable as a king. You have proved that you are such a person by helping me without even knowing me. Jenny-Anne, would you like to join me on this magical mission?"

“Of course!” said Jenny-Anne. She was as excited as a person with sugar rush. "Is it okay if I called you Jenny?”, asked Ellie.

"Sure", said Jenny. Her heart was beating like a drum.

"This is best adventure I will ever have", thought Jenny.

Although Ellie could read her mind, she said nothing.

Ellie looked very serious and said, "Jenny, it's high time we go to fairy land. Come on, follow me."

"My mother will be worried about me. What do l do?", exclaimed Jenny.

“Don’t worry”, Ellie replied. "I can freeze time in your realm and time flies as fast as an eagle in fairyland. Now follow me or we will never get to fairyland at this speed. We are as slow as snails right now.”

"Okay", said Jenny, not wanting to be left out of the mission.

"Go behind the toadstool ", said Ellie.

When Jenny went behind the toadstool, she saw a tunnel. It was as dark as night and as slippery as an eel. Soon they were in fairyland!

Jenny saw pixies and gnomes, fairies and elves, goblins and ogres, witches and wizards and a host of other magical beings.

"This as beautiful as a dream", said Jenny.

"It was prettier than this before the dark spell conquered fairyland. We must stop it, now, before it covers other lands", said Ellie. She was as determined as a mother hen to save the world of magic and pixies. Jenny understood Ellie's concern for the land, but she couldn't help feeling a little scared.

"It's okay to feel scared. Be thankful that we are not in the Land of Chills where a fright gives you goose bumps as large as rosebuds", said Ellie.

The two of them hurried to the castle of Queen Qiona and King Kaden. It was heavily guarded by female pixie guards.

“Are you sure we should be in here?", said Jenny.

"The Queen is calling Ellie the elf", said one of the guards. Ellie went through the big doors. After a few minutes, Jenny was called, too. Jenny was as nervous as a cat trying to jump. She could feel her heart beating like a drum in her throat. As she went through the doors she saw a beautiful Fairy dressed in silver and an Elf dressed in gold. Near them, she saw Ellie.

"So this is the little girl, Jenny that you were talking about”, said the King.

"I cannot believe that a human believed in fairyland! "said the Queen. “Ellie might have told you about the mission. But I highly doubt in her telling you the entire story. So I think I should tell it to you", she said.

Jenny was a curious as a cat right now.

"So this is how it began. Goonie the goblin, cursed the whole of fairyland that it would lose its colours because we forgot to serve him on Goblin day and served all the others", said the Queen. "He stormed into our castle and demanded food. However, our kitchens were closed as it was Sunday", said the King. "As a result, he cursed us. The castle started losing its colour. the curse can only be undone if we find The Legendary Dragon Slayer ", explained the Queen.

"That’s as easy as pie. Is there any description of the Dragon Slayer", said Jenny.

"Sadly, there is no evidence but legend says that only the dragon slayer can defeat the goblin," said King Kaden.

"There must be some more proof", insisted Ellie.

"Kaden you're missing something. There is another part of the story. Legend also says that whoever can climb the great fairy canyon with only one accomplice and retrieve the magic ring is the dragon slayer", said Queen Qiona. "Everybody ever tested had failed. They always had an invisible accomplices as well as a visible accomplice with them. One more part of the story is that the dragon slayer is human. That is why we called you, my dear child ".

"OK, let's see whether I am the dragon slayer or not ", said Jenny.

"Please may I have Ellie as my accomplice?".

"You are right, child let us see whether you are the dragon slayer or not. You can have Ellie as an accomplice", said the Queen.

So they went to the fairy Canyon. Jenny successfully scaled the treacherous cliff with only Ellie as her accomplice. She put on the magic ring and gained all the powers of the dragon slayer. "Good gracious! Who would have thought that I Jenny-Anne am the legendary dragon slayer! ", she thought.

"Child, you are indeed the dragon slayer but you still to learn to master your power, especially against the goblins, the most wicked and powerful magical race", said the Queen.

As soon as they returned to the castle, Jenny was taught how to wield a sword, a spear, a bow and arrow and her favourite part of training, how to ride a unicorn. She mastered these skills as fast as a cheetah.

The news that the dragon slayer had been found, reached Goonie, the Goblin. He declared war on fairyland.

Jenny was alerted. She brushed her unicorn's hair, sharpened her sword, changed her arrowheads, polished her bow and cleaned her armour. She was ready for battle. Even though she was scared she showed courage. She was as brave as a lion. The goblin thought that since the dragon slayer is  just a human child, it would be as easy as ABC to beat her. But, he was wrong!

It was the day of the battle. Jenny took a deep breath, saddled her unicorn and mounted with her arms. The battle raged long and hard. Beaten in every way, Goonie soon surrendered.

Goonie apologised to all of fairyland and his magical powers were taken away from him.

"I should go back to my own world now", said Jenny. "Please show me the way, Ellie".

"I will show you the Tunnel but remember to visit us or I shall be very angry at you", said Ellie.

When they went through the Tunnel this time they came out at Jenny's front door.

"Wow! How did this happen! I thought that you could only come out at one destination out of one end of the tunnel", said Jenny.

Ellie laughed and said, "The magic of imagination makes it possible to come out wherever you want. You wanted to go home so you came to the door step of your house and I wanted to be near the dragon slayer's home. So I think I should resume time. Farewell, dragon slayer," said Ellie.

"Goodbye Ellie, l will miss you a lot", said Jenny.

Jenny felt someone shaking her shoulder, it was her mother waking her up.

Was it a dream or did it really happen?

Jenny felt it was as real as the delicious smell of the freshly baked cake coming from the kitchen.
