The first book I chose.

The one series which has been my most favourite is about Maisy and her adventures.

Maisy is a little mouse and has funny adventures with her friends Charlie the crocodile, Talulah the bird, Eddie the elephant, Cyril the squirrel and others. Maisy is the one that inspired me to read more.

Each story has something to learn from. So, it becomes easy to teach children about cleanliness, hygiene, good manners, kindness etc. The illustrations are bright and colourful. In fact these are the only books more colorful than my Eric Carle books!

Reading Maisy for the first time was pure luck because I chose it myself! Usually my parents would choose books for me , but for the first time I was allowed to choose my own book. I chose a book called 'Maisy, Charlie and the Wobbly Tooth'. In this story, Charlie was scared to go the dentist and Maisy helps him to get over his fear. It teaches children about dental hygiene.

Lucy Cousins is an English author and illustrator of children's books. Born on 10 February 1964, she created Maisy, who is probably the most loved mouse in the world alongwith Mickey, Minnie and the Stiltons( Geronimo and Thea).

Lucy says illustrations express better and attract children. She uses her own childish instincts to create what children would like. She writes mostly for toddlers and preschoolers.

I didn't mention this series in my top 10 books, because I wanted to write about it separately. I'm sure your children will enjoy reading and growing up with Maisy and her friends.
